Our story begins in Australia in 1996, where Ross first entered the marine industry as both a yacht designer and an ambitious young sailor. His early passion for understanding how boats worked — not just how they sailed — set the foundation for a career that has blended engineering, racing, and high‑level performance analysis for more than two decades.
Ross moved to New Zealand to join two of the world’s leading custom yacht builders, Sensation Yachts and Yachting Developments, working as a Design Coordinator and Naval Architect. There, he specialised in sail‑handling systems, hydraulics, PLC‑based control systems, and onboard electronics for superyachts ranging from 37 to 68 metres. These years cemented his understanding of complex systems engineering and the importance of robust, reliable design in real‑world conditions.
While his design career advanced, his sailing led him down the path of navigation, weather strategy, and performance management. Racing across Australia, Asia, and Europe, Ross developed a reputation for combining big‑picture tactical thinking with meticulous data analysis. He has continued to race as a Grand Prix navigator for more than 16 years, competing in many of the world’s premier regattas alongside top international sailors.
Today, Ross is based in Frankfurt, Germany — a location that provides fast access to projects and regattas across Europe and around the world. His work now spans new builds, refits, system optimisation, sailing performance, race‑team support, and the development of custom software tools for navigation and real‑time data acquisition.
Beyond competitive sailing, Ross also contributes his expertise to adventure athletes, supporting ultra‑distance swimmers, SUP expeditions, and over‑land adventurers with routing, weather planning, and performance analysis. This extension into endurance sports reflects a consistent theme throughout his career: helping people perform at their best by understanding conditions, equipment, and data at the deepest level.
We believe that the best solutions are practical, reliable, and built through real hands‑on experience. Our work is grounded in engineering fundamentals, but always shaped by how things actually function on the water — under pressure, at speed, and in constantly changing environments.
Whether a project involves a 60‑metre superyacht, a high‑performance race boat, or a specialised data tool, our goal remains the same:
to deliver clarity, performance, and confidence through thoughtful design and informed decision‑making.
Our approach is collaborative and adaptable. For some clients, we join the team on the water — navigating, analysing, or supporting race operations. For others, we deliver remote performance reporting, custom app development, or design consulting for major refits. Across all projects, we bring together:
This combination of design thinking, performance insight, and hands‑on racing experience defines who we are — and it shapes every project we take on.
