Pregnancy Sessions

When should I plan a session?

Between 32 & 35 weeks is the best time, you will have that wonderful pregnancy glow and beautiful curve of the belly. After 35weeks is of course still possible, right up to your last day of pregnancy, so don’t hesitate to contact me last minute if you want to capture your pregnancy just in time.

What should I wear or bring?

You should bring your favourite outfits, a lovely shirt or cardigan that shows off your belly, your favourite Bra or bikini top and a sarong or skirt that sits nicely under your belly. Accessories like jewellery or a scarf always would great. If you would like some topless or nude shots, I would recommend not wearing tight clothing for a few days before to avoid marking your skin.

Can my partner or other children join in?

Absolutely ! they are an important part of your journey through pregnancy.

Newborn Sessions

What age is best?

For true newborn photos the best age is very young, between 3 and 14 days. During this time they are small, venerable and gorgeous, and this shows in the photos. During this time we can capture some wonderful photos of them sleeping.

That said older babies up to 12 weeks still have that newborn look, but are becoming more alert and curious about the world. More often than not they will be awake and active, creating a different element to the photographs.

What should I bring, what should baby wear?

I would recommend plain colours, avoiding patterns and logos as these draw the attention away from babies face.

Plain white always looks great in black and white shots, and pale pinks and blues work well in colour.

What else should I bring?

Make sure you bring a change of cloths for both you and baby. Accidents can happen when you are holding your baby nappy-free.

Can my babies siblings, grandparents etc join in?

Definitely ! they are all part of the family. I love to shoot newborns with their older siblings, uncles and aunts, grandparents.

Baby in plain white and siblings / grandparents in plain black makes for some very special photos.

What if my newborn won’t settle for the shoot?

Don’t worry, whilst the shoot is for an hour, I totally understand how hard it can be. I won’t be watching the clock and it takes as long as it takes to have him / her settle and be comfortable. Hey, we can have a coffee and chat while we wait !

When should I book?

As early as possible is best, I recommend making an appointment during your pregnancy. We can work out a session date and time based on the expected due date. However we all know that baby doesn’t care much for schedules… so we will stay flexible as needed and you will get priority on a new time.
